General Rules
Respect
Do I really need to say more? Please respect your fellow members. Discrimination of any kind (racism, sexism, etc) will not be tolerated.
Activity
Please try to remain active. Everyone has a life outside of roleplaying, but what's the point of joining if you're not going to be active? Please try to post in-character at least once – and preferably twice – a week. If you will be away for an extended period of time (vacation, exams, etc), please post in the checking out board.
Multiple characters
You are allowed to have more than one character. Currently there is no limit on the number of characters you may play. However, all characters need to remain active (see above rule regarding activity). When creating a new character, please create a new account to use when posting as that character. Please consider making a mix of male and female characters, so as to maintain a bit of balance.
Images
Images, including signatures and avatars, are allowed on the forums. Please make sure they are appropriate (PG-13 or below – no nudity, provocative, etc pictures) and not overly large (i.e. doesn't stretch the forum). Images felt to be too large or inappropriate may be removed or resized at the staff's discretion.
Board Rating
This roleplay has an overall rating of PG-13 in order to comply with ProBoards' terms of service. Please try to stick to this rating. Threads found to be in violation of this rule will be deleted and the poster warned. If you need to go above the stated rating, please take it to PM.
In-Character Rules
Power-Playing
You control your character and your character alone. This means that you may not assume how another character will react – you must allow them to reply with their own actions.
God-Modding
Along the same lines as power-playing. No one can dodge every attack. No one can escape every situation. Keep it realistic, allow some faults in your character, don't always make them succeed.
Post Length and Content
Perrault Academy has no minimum post length. Keep in mind, however, that it is an intermediate to advanced roleplay. One-liners are not acceptable. Also, please read over what you've written before posting. Occasional errors in spelling are permissible, but consistent problems will result in warning. There is a spell check available on the board – please use it to your advantage!
Rules may be updated from time to time. Please be sure to keep an eye out for updates!

Bob punched Bill, hitting him hard in the face. ((Wrong – Bob is writing Bill's reactions, not allowing Bill to respond))
Bob punched at Bill, hoping to hit him in the face. ((Right – Bob has stated his intentions while still allowing Bill to make the final decision regarding whether or not the punch will actually connect)).
